Takahashi Deishu
A vassal and expert spearman of the Tokugawa Government last stage; Meiji era. Born at Edo. Younger brother of the Great master of spearmanship, Yamaoka Seizan. Given name: Masaaki, Pseudonym: Kanmou, Common name: Seiichi. He succeeded the Takahashi clan, and became an instructor of "Kobusho" at the age of 25. He was treated as a master-less samurai, but after the Battle of Toba and Fushimi, attended on guarding the life of Tokugawa Keiki (Shogun). Yamaoka Tesshu is the husband of his sister. One of the three - 'Shu' of the Tokugawa government last stage. Died in 1903 at the age 69.
