Japanese artist. Birth place: Akita Prefecture. Given name:Toyoshiro.Studied under Kawabata Ryushi and Tsuchida Bakusen. Graduates from Kyoto professional school of arts. Organized 'Sanjyu-sha' with Yoshioka Kenji, Komatsu Hitoshi and others, later on founded a Creative Arts Sosiety, united with the Modernistic Works Institution to become a member. Winner of "Mainichi Arts Award". Died in 1970 at the age of 65.

At the beginning his style was a succinctly realistic representation, but later on changed to a sweet and profound style with decoration elements. Member of The Japan Art Academy. A judge for the Imperial Academy's Art Exhibition. Person of Cultural merits. A winner of the Order of Cultural Merits. Died in 1972 at the age of 76.
